¡QUIERO MATAR EL PÁJARO!

Roughly translated- “I want to kill the bird!”
I’ve tried yelling at it in both English and Spanish, taunting it by pretending to throw my silverware at it, and giving it the silent treatment- yet to no avail. The stupid thing will not stop “singing”. (and don’t even get me started on the dog..)

Next week I plan on going up to the North of Spain for a couple days. We have the whole week off for Carnaval. I want to explore the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and re-trace Anthony Bourdain’s footsteps in San Sebastian. I’m stoked to see the difference between the North and South and Andalucía vs. Basque Country… however I am not stoked for the 15 hour bus ride… Hopefully the snow will replace itself with sunshine like they say it will next week.
I’ve been Google-ing Starbucks in every city I travel to (because I’m that cool) and looks like I’m out of luck once again up North. (I will find you double-soy-vanilla-latte/white-chocolate-americano…just you wait…)

So far, Spanish is still difficult. I still get nervous when I talk to locals mostly because of the “what the heck are you trying to say?” looks on their faces. I’m feeling very discouraged, but am trying to retain a hope for the next couple months. I know it will get better- it’s just trudging through the mud trying to get there that sucks.

Ps. I got a new camera so I can finally take more pictures! Woo!
Only 3 ½ more months… I can’t believe it! What a sweet reunion it will be.

This picture has absolutely no relevancy whatsoever to this post, but I think it's funny:
